The Application Process

The application process generally begins the fall prior to the year the student desires to enter Saint Gertrude High School. We encourage you to fill out the on-line information request form and call the admission office. By doing both, we can get to know you and answer your questions directly.
 
Step 1: Email the on-line information request and call us at (804) 358.9114 or (804) 358.9885 ext. 341.
 
Step 2: Visit our School.

Opportunity for parents to tour the school, visit classes and talk with students:

  Prospective Parents: Make an appointment to visit Saint Gertrude and have a tour of our school. After the tour, the Admission Director will talk with you and answer your questions
   
  Prospective Students: Make an appointment to spend the day with us. You will have your own hostess for the day and travel with her and attend her classes. We encourage appointments to be made on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays
   
  Visiting a school is a vital part of the application process both for parents and students. Mark your calendars to attend our Open House which are held in the Fall and our Student Visitation day in November. At the Open House, you can meet our faculty and our proud parents, take tours, and have refreshments. A special program is planned for Student Visitation Day
   
Step 3: Make application
  Complete the application and transcript release form in our viewbook and send it back to us with a $50 application fee. Applications are due January 31. After January 31, we have rolling admissions based on qualified applicants and availability of spaces.
   
  The transcript release form is then forwarded by the admission director to the student’s current school. Each application is reviewed by an admission committee. The admission committee will look at the student’s transcripts, recommendation from her school, and standardized test scores. Decision letters are sent out the first week in March.
   
Step 4: Take the Admission Test
  Test dates are:

Wednesday, January 16, 2008 @ 2:30 PM
Saturday, January 26, 2008 @ 9:00 AM
Saturday, February 23, 2008 @ 9:00 AM
 
Step 5: An Interview
  An interview with a member of the Admission committee is required before acceptance. Please have your transcript sent to Saint Gertrude High School before your interview takes place. Interviews take place from December - February and include the applicant and the parent(s).
