Lunch Menu and Procedure:

Please use the printable menu selection form to place your daughter’s lunch order for a day or an entire week. The completed form (with check attached) may be turned in during Morning Gathering or during the students lunch period. The form must be received at least one day before the day of your child’s lunch order. We hope everyone will use the pre-pay plan as well as enjoy all the lunch choices.

Library Request:
The Juniors in U.S. History and English are doing a final combined project on the 1950's. The teachers would like to have old stacks of Life (or other popular) magazines from the fifties for the girls to browse through as they do their Fifties Web Page projects. Would anyone who has copies of magazines from this decade and is willing to give them to the library for this purpose, please contact Sue Gregori at 358-9885 x225 or sgregori@saintgertrude.org. Thank you.
 
Summer Class:
There is a summer school classroom drivers' ed program June 16th -June 27. 8-12 M-F. Please call the front office if interested. Cost is $125.00.
 
From the Business Office:
If you recently received an invoice for an outstanding tuition or fee balance, please make sure it is paid before the end of the school year. No year end report cards or transcripts will be released for students that have a balance due on their account. If you have any questions concerning your account, please contact Jane Johnson in the Business Office at 358-9885 ext. 342. Thank you!
 
Ensemble:
Ensemble will sing for the 11 am Mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Sunday, May 18. Families are welcome to join us!
 
Choral Concert and Art Show:
The Spring Choral Concert, Art Show, and Awards Night is Tuesday, May 20 beginning at 7 pm. Come celebrate the arts with us, and be here to applaud your daughter’s arts awards!
 
Buyback Book Sale:
Saint Gertrude High School will hold its annual Buyback Book Sale on June 5th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the multipurpose room. A list of the books that can be sold on that day is provided in the link below. This list is also posted on Mrs. Brickley's door and the front office window.

Students will also receive a COLLECTION SHEET during one of their class meetings prior to the sale so that they can begin completing the form before the date of the sale. Please do not lose the collection sheet as we will not have enough to distribute at the sale. A complete package of information and items you will need on that day AND to order your books during the summer should arrive from the book company by next week. PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS PACKAGE.(It will also include a collection sheet to be completed and brought on the buyback book sale day)

June 5th is the only time in which students will be able to sell their books. This is not a regular school day. If a student cannot attend that day, they may send their textbooks and collection sheet with another student or a parent.

Freshman Class News:
The Freshman class will end the year with a PIZZA PARTY!!!!!!! This has been a wonderful year for the class of Pink and Brown in many ways. The girls of this class have taken their class work seriously, participating in class, asking questions, and using teacher's office hours for extra help. In Theology class their deep faith and interest in Scripture has also helped to shape their class friendships. The Freshman class moderators would like to thank all the parents for the support you gave your daughters and their school activities. FRESHMAN CLASS PIZZA PARTY

Library Notice:
All library materials need to be returned and overdue fines paid before exams may be taken. Please remind your daughters to check in their locker, in your or their cars, and under their bed for library books and magazines and return them to the library by May 22.

Did you know: Miss Fusco will be singing at the Kennedy Center on May 27 with the Richmond Symphony and Chorus as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration for the Symphony.

Stuart Avenue Players:

Stuart Avenue Players drama club has been working on a children’s play called “Once Upon A Wolf.” We will present it to the students in the St Bridget’s Elementary School After-Care Program on Wednesday, May 21.

 
Ukrop's Golden Gifts:
Thank you to the many families who have donated their Ukrop’s Golden Gift Certificates to Saint Gertrude High School. We are continuing to collect them through June 13th. Please turn them in to the development office or the front office at school. With your help we can make sure Saint Gertrude High School receives a share of the total $400,000 payout from Ukrop’s.
