Visual Arts at Saint Gertrude High School
In each of our Visual Arts classes students will develop attitudes and behaviors that support creativity and innovative thinking. Students will be encouraged to focus on making creative works that reflect an understanding of the elements and principles of art, while exercising choice in subject matter and style.
Students learn to visualize and hypothesize to generate ideas and plans for for creating art and design. Students are encouraged to choose from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices, following or breaking established conventions, to complete their projects.
Students work both independently and collaboratively in a rich environment of exploration and learning.
